Expert Sports Therapy Care: Your Path to Recovery and Wellness

Sports Therapy is a specialised area of healthcare dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of both sports-related injuries and everyday injuries. Designed for people of all demographics from children and elderly all the way to professional athletes. Sports therapy aims to optimise performance, improve mobility, and support a safe return to physical activity after injury.

Combining principles from physiotherapy and sports science, sports therapists use a range of techniques including injury assessment, manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, taping, acupuncture, and sports massage. Whether you are recovering from a strain, managing chronic pain, or looking to enhance athletic performance, sports therapy provides tailored care to meet your individual needs.

At its core, sports therapy is about keeping you active, pain-free, and performing at your best—whether on the field, in the gym, or in daily life.

Sports Therapy Assessment and Treatment

This will include speaking to your sports therapist about your symptoms and the effect it has on your daily life. We will identify goals and expectations of treatment and take a brief medical history. We will then perform a detailed physical assessment which will assess range of movement, strength and specific tests to make an accurate diagnosis.

Your sports therapist will then discuss your diagnosis and treatment options. Treatment begins immediately by the sports therapist and mainly consists of hands-on techniques to lengthen tight muscle, reduce spasm and mobilise/ manipulate stiff joints.

You will then be given a few simple exercises or stretches, advice on how to self-manage your pain and further treatment sessions will be booked if required.

We use a variety of modalities to treat your condition, these include:

Hands-on Sports Therapy – mobilisations, manipulations, soft tissue massage, trigger point massage, traction/ distraction techniques.
